Fact: Cronkite lied about the Tet Offensive, helped turn public opinion from a moral, winnable war and has the blood of 2 million Cambodians on his hands. No wonder he’s a hero to the left.
They hate America, and he damaged America irreparably. Obama probably worships the guy (if self-proclaimed messiahs worship anyone other than themselves).
Cronkite belonged to that last group of newsreaders whom the stupid, vapid, ignorant public of the 50’s-60’s, who spent most of their waking hours staring at the TV trusted and venerated. He was also the first to take that veneration and try to parlay it into pimping the liberal agenda. He was a member of the “elite media”, who knew better than the average working stiff what was good for them, and who propagandized endlessly to school the dull-witted public on what was enlightened and what was not.
Religion=bad. Conservatism=racism. Enviromentalism trumped public good, capitalism or even common sense. Military=bad. Nuclear weapons, which kept the world relatively peaceful (the first era when the superpowers of the day never clashed in direct war) were bad things. Socialism was good. Capitalism=bad. Above all, Republicans=bad Democrats=good.
Cronkite started out this crusade by lying about the Tet offensive, which he claimed was a defeat for the US, when in fact it was disastrous for the VC except in a public relations sense, abetted by traitors like Cronkite. He continued throughout the Nixon Admin, doing his best with the legions of leftist “journalists” to bring that president down. He succeeded. He was less successful with Reagan, and he retired early in Reagan’s Admin, but he continued to make pronouncements up into GWBush’s presidency about the evilness of Republicans.
Fuck that son of a bitch. Burn in hell, Cronkite. When the last newsreader is fired and the networks go out of the news business, it will be a great day for freedom, justice and liberty. When the last newspaper prints its last issue and closes its doors, ditto.
The press has done nothing but serve as a mouthpiece for the democrat party and liberal causes for the last 50 years, at least. They have never been an aid to our liberty or life.
“The press are traitors, and I treat them as such,” said General Sherman, in response to newspapermen printing secrets about Union troop movements and plans they picked up from slackers and stragglers. “I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are.” and “If I had my choice I would kill every reporter in the world, but I am sure we would be getting reports from Hell before breakfast. “
Back then they were merely whores and traitors to sell newspapers. During Cronkite’s reign, the networks and big city newspapers were secure that they were the gate-minders of all information and the public had nowhere else to turn for news, so they filtered and slanted the news not to make money, but to propagandize.
With the advent of the internet (I disagree cable news turned the tide, CNN is and was the most liberal outlet extant) things changed, and the tyranny was over. Their last gasp has been to help elect that racist disgrace Brack Obumble, but it will be a Pyrric victory in that his liberal over-reach will lose the democrats their majority and make him a one-termer. With the press neutered, and more and more liberal newspapers going bellly-up (maybe even the vaunted NYT?) and the networks phasing out network news in the next decade, the great liberal cudgel will be dead.
The American public is naturally conservative. And without the constant lying, badgering, distorting and hateful bile of the press to abet traitors like Obama and the rest of the democrats, there is hope that after the setbacks of ‘06 and ‘08, (which were caused by the press lying about Katrina and vilifying Bush over Iraq, when they should have celebrated him as a great liberator and bringer of Democracy to the Arabs and the Middle-East) the GOP will come roaring back for a long and sustained realignment.
Fuck Cronkite, that ghoul, that vulture, that lying bastard swimming in a sea of pus. We hope he burns in the hottest part of hell for his treachery to his country and for the myriad of suffering and discontent he fomented and abetted. However, according to Dante, Cronkite may be in for a cooler reception in Hell’s Ninth Circle, reserved for traitors:

It will be a tough call for Satan to place Cronkite properly. I’d suggest the Devil divide Cronkite’s stay into 100 year increments in each locale throughout Eternity. Even that cannot properly punish that bastard for his calumny and deceit, which helped injure our great country with abominations like Carter’s presidency, the fallout from which we are still suffering, and the inspiration for the dung-beetles in the press who demonized President GW Bush and the Republicans.
On your death, we wish you only scorn and disdain, and celebrate your passing with the relief that you and your ilk shall never hold power over the American Public again. Fuck you Cronkite, hopefully you suffered at the end and here’s hoping you an eternity of torment for your words and deeds. Let us hear his name no more forever.
